Sinopoli's Bruckner Cycle at Rome's Accademia di Santa Cecilia (1983-85)

At the beginning of a conversation of 24 June 1991 on Wagner's Gotterdammerung, held in Rome on invitation by the Amici di Santa Cecilia, Giuseppe Sinopoli commented favourably on the attention and interest of the Roman public at the Accademia of Santa Cecilia concerts of several classical works. Amongst these performances there was also a partial cycle of Bruckner symphonies.

According to Sandro Cappelletto (note 16 on pages 125 and 126 of Giuseppe Sinopoli: IL MIO WAGNER, ed. Sandro Cappelletto, Marsilio Editori 2006), the following are the dates, in chronoligical order, of live Accademia concerts of Bruckner symphonies conducted by Sinopoli:


Bruckner 9 - 12, 13, 14 June 1983

Bruckner 4 - 1, 2, 3 April 1984

Bruckner 7 - 10, 11, 12 November 1984

Bruckner 6 - 14, 15, 16, 17 December 1985


In view of my current Sinopoli-Bruckner survey, I would very much appreciate any further information, comments (especially by persons who attended these performances) as well as any recordings concerning these Bruckner concerts. Any information and comments on other Sinopoli-Bruckner live concerts will also be highly appreciated with a view to be included in the present research.
